This Guwahati-Shillong package tour introduces you to Northeast India at its charming best. Shillong, often referred to as ‘Scotland of the East’ is Meghalaya’s capital city and is known for its breathtaking lush green vales, rolling hills and low-lying clouds. Guwahati, Assam’s capital falls no short in scenic beauty. So, this particular tour is sure to turn into a power-packed rejuvenating package for any passionate vacationer.
Upon your arrival at Guwahati airport/railway station you are welcomed by our tour representative who then drives you to the beautiful Meghalayan hill station of Shillong. En route we drop for a while at the Barapani Lake or Umiam Lake, the largest of all artificial lakes of Meghalaya. At the lakeside you get to savor the breathtak-ing beauty of the sylvan hills that beset the lake. On reaching the hill station of Shillong, we check into hotel for dinner and night stay.
Next day post breakfast we head for the exciting excursion to Cherrapunji, a place globally famous for being the earth’s wettest place. On your way to Cherrapunji, you can catch sight of numerous limestone caves, small and big waterfalls and most unique root bridges. The pitter patter sound of rains or dripping water adds a striking rhythm to the ambiance. At Cherrapunji we visit places like Mawsmai caves, Seven Sisters falls, Thangkharang Park. Towards evening we drive back to Shillong and en route visit the renowned Shillong peak and Elephant falls. Night stay at hotel in Shillong.
Next day quite early in the morning we set out to visit the beautiful Lady Hydari Park of Shillong. This Japanese style floral garden presents a true riot of colors. We return to hotel for breakfast and post breakfast we proceed for Guwahati. On reaching we check into hotel and later proceed to visualize the splendid light and sound show at Kalakshetra and also for a revitalize evening cruise on River Brahmaputra. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay.
On the morning of 4th day we proceed to visit the famed Kamakya temple; one of the renowned Shakti Peeths of the country. We return to hotel for breakfast post which we checkout from hotel and you are dropped at Guwahati railway station/airport where our representative sees you off and you proceed for your journey back home carrying with you lots of unforgettable moments from the tour.
